The alphabet Castro 1959 began from studies about the religious oppression occurring in Cuba. With many different stories, one in particular arose attention, it told the story of a woman whose Portfolio was violently destroyed by a communist party, which was commanded by the department of religious matters formed by Fidel Castro. A government whose purpose was to diminish any, if not all, religious practices. The communist party's approach was to wreck any religious item they found in the women's Portfolio, leaving her with nothing intact. Rosaries, crosses, figurines of the Virgin Mary, prayer candles, all destroyed on the grounds of your own property, a Latin country where you'd believe that freedom of religion was granted to everyone. These studies led to the elaboration of a Spanish alphabet based of off the religious oppression in Cuba. The pain, the hatred, ripping apart every sense of freedom, inflicting fear in every inch of their bodies. An uncontrollable action affecting their lives for years to come, stranded in an island passionately loved by majority of the islanders. Castro 1959.
